We try to get it in every possible way and with any possible (legal) means, especially in Padua and Veneto but also wherever we can go, physically or through the Internet. We welcome newbies to come to our base, on Saturdays, to help them with GNU/Linux installation and other Free Software; we organize educational meetings, we organize and/or take part to events and many activities: see the projects here below (or go to the administrative interface, restricted access).

This project is brought on in cooperation with the UNESCO Club of Padua and the Friends of the World Treasure International Secretary, which is also based at the Ex Macello di Padova: the greatest part of the machines we recover, in fact, comes from the UNESCO Computer Museum.

Once they are up and running these born again computers become of the local area network we have put up in our base and all the PLUTO Padova Users may access them for programming, for studying and comparing the behaviour of different architectires and for educational purpose.

If you are interested in this activity or if you think you may contribute in some way to this project please feel free to contact NN or Danilo Selvestrel.

Our main goal is to promote the distribution and development of Free Software.

The ReFun Project

In short: we love old lonely boxes and computers and we clean and try to recover and put them back up and when possible we try to do this with Free operating software like Free/Net/OpenBSD or GNU/Linux.
